DIET'S DON'T WORK!
Year in, year out people embark on many different diets with the same goal, to lose weight. You may have been one of them. You probably logged your meals, counted calories, fasted during certain times of the day and so on. You achieved an initial weight loss but found it too hard to continue with ultimately regaining that weight loss and possibly more in the following year. Does that sound about right?!
Well, you’re not alone. It is estimated that 95% of all diets fail! And you are not to BLAME either.
Why? Because diets are usually focused on short-term, restrictive and ultimately unsustainable goals.
Intuitive eating is a way to be free of that vicious cycle, it is a real possibility that you can resolve your diet fixation, lose that focus of weight loss and break the cycle for GOOD!
WHAT IS INTUITIVE EATING?
Intuitive eating is a practice that promotes a healthy attitude towards both food and body image. It teaches you how to make the best choices for your life.
It is the opposite of a traditional diet, there are no strict guidelines or rules to follow. Fundamentally, you eat when you’re hungry and stop when you are full. You will feel satisfied and not that you can't eat what you want.
Studies have shown that those who practice intuitive eating have a healthier psychological attitude, lower body mass index (BMI) and better weight maintenance. However, we need to be clear, this is not another diet, it's never about weight loss when we are using a weight inclusive approach, the side effect can be weight loss but this is not a focus or the intention.
Those embracing intuitive eating have shown improved self-esteem and an overall better quality of life. Additional studies have found those who practice intuitive eating are less likely to display eating disorder behaviours.
Would you like to say goodbye to diets for GOOD and find a happier relationship with food? Never again having to restrict what you eat or feel guilty for eating those foods you enjoy.
‘Ditch the Diet’ and discover a way to eat to support your body's needs, following its hunger cues and find that satisfaction that diets strip you of!
Our 6 Sessions and group based course offers an introduction to Intuitive Eating (looking at the diet culture that surrounds us) and how to take steps to incorporate gentle nutrition into your life.
